Is Aerial Yoga a Yoga Practice?

It’s very interesting to read opinions and how each person understands what yoga or aerial yoga is or is not. Although, putting yoga into some sort of labelled box is already kind of moving away from the actual yoga, since it’s so broad and holistic practice.

I believe it all depends on the approach and the principles you adapt in the yoga practice while the form can vary and it might look different. The same yoga sometimes can be only called yoga, but you might see only the physical poses of it while no essence of an actual yoga.
The same in aerial yoga, if it has more acrobatics it doesn’t make it less of the yoga practice, especially if it incorporates mindful movement, stimulating awareness, focusing on the breath and on the sensations at this very moment, immersing into meditation, finding the connection within self, while progressively moving through the practice with more advanced poses while using the silk.
Yoga is about connection with yourself and enjoying that connection through yoga on mat, in the air or any type, as long it works for you in whatever form it would be for beginner practitioner or advanced one☺️
